Martin Visser Set of 4 'SE06' Chairs in Patinated Black Leather. The Netherlands, 1970s.

Clean lines and a distinct use of leather and metal. The SE06, designed in 1960, is one of the best designs by Dutch designer Martin Visser. SE stands for 'Stoel Eetkamer', which means dining room chair. Minimalist and timeless, the SE06 is a keen work of design. This set of 4 SE06 chairs was made somewhere in the 1970s and shows a wonderful and desirable patination on the black leather parts. The leather is in good condition, with details like the buckle on the backside and a new lace underneath to tighten the leather which naturally loosens over time.

A star designer and art collector, Martin Visser (1922-2009) is one of the most important Dutch furniture designers of the 20th century. Together with 't Spectrum in Bergeijk he designed numerous wonderful pieces of furniture, all with very distinct and timeless lines. Next to that, he was head curator at Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen in Rotterdam and his collection of more than 400 works of art is now part of the collection of the Dutch museum Kröller-Müller.

This set of 4 chairs is in great vintage condition with a desirable patination on the black leather parts.

Price is for the set of 4 chairs.
